Microsoft Reminds Us of Xbox Windows Phone Mango Features Not Yet Utilized
October 23, 2011 No CommentsWith all the new features to hit Mango, Microsoft kindly reminded us of features that still have not yet come to play on our new Windows Phone 7.5 OS.
These are like wearable achievements for your avatar. Once they’re unlocked, avatar awardables will suddenly appear in your avatar closet and can be worn on your avatar’s sleeve as a badge of honour. The game “Chickens Can’t Fly” will be one of the first Xbox LIVE titles to feature these – keep an eye out for its release.
Game Add-ons
Xbox LIVE titles in the Marketplace lets you buy in-game add-ons and downloadable content like extra weapons or levels. These will make games even more exciting as they’ll develop over time and bring fresh content. It might even make some levels a little easier! The Xbox LIVE game Beards & Beaks allows you to purchase extra mushrooms and other items with Microsoft Points using this new feature.
With the latest release of Windows Phone parents now have more control over what content their children can access. An M-rating (mature) for games has also been introduced, so you know what type of content it contains. The first of these will be “Splinter Cell: Conviction”, arriving soon.
This is a new Xbox LIVE service that improves gameplay for multiplayer and turn-by-turn (or asynchronous) Windows Phone games.
Mango has brought alot on board to Windows Phone but we haven’t seen it all yet. Chickens Can’t Fly will bring us unlockable Avatar awards, More game add-ons, Multiplayer games and M Rated games are coming soon starting with Splinter Cell: Conviction which should be available sometime thiis month.
