Compal to Start Delivering 2 Million Windows Phones to Nokia in September? Ordered for Q4 2011

August 12, 2011 No Comments

Hold on to your hats people – we are getting very close to Mango and now we are that much closer to Nokia WP7 devices. According to Taiwan based Dan Nystedt, local media is reporting that Compal will start shipping Windows Phones to Nokia in September (next month). A total of 2 million Windows Phones havebeen ordered for the 4th quarter of this year by Nokia.

This is very good news all around – for Nokia, Microsoft and consumers alike. Microsoft shipped only 2.6 million Windows Phones Q4 2010. With Nokia shipping 2 million themselves this year, it looks to be a big holiday season for Windows Phone.

Nokia World, which is set for October 26-27th in London is my guess for when these devices will be either announced officially or launched. Nokia fans or not, all year we have waited for this moment. How much will Nokia factor in Microsoft’s place in the mobile world? Will Nokia save the day and at the same time save themselves?

Only time will tell… Can’t wait to get my hands on the Nokia Sea Ray
