Evernote has just received an update for Windows Phone. It is the first update since the it went Mango back in September and its a beauty…

Evernote 2.1. new features:

  • Pin on your homescreen – you can provide pins (or shortcuts) to frequented notes, notebooks, searches, tags and more. Great during the holiday when you’re continually accessing your holiday checklist!

  • Note templates – if you have a certain go-to format (text + photo, when snapping gift ideas while shopping, for example) you can create a template that will reside on your homescreen as a pin. Great for quickly creating similar notes on the go!
  • Other improvements include text editing updates,
  • new language support, and more.

The more that the evernote team is referring to are things like

  • Background sync: The app will complete a sync when the device is on a WIFI connection, even if the phone is locked.
  • Search integration: Evernote is integrated with the Windows Phone search. If you swipe across on a search result, you will see notes in Evernote related to that search.
