3D Maps Coming to Nokia Windows Phones? Nokia Maps Found in Marketplace

October 2, 2011 No Comments

First, an anonymous tipster sent WinRumors images of a marketing package. The posters were supposedly displayed briefly at T-Mobile’s corporate headquarters in Germany.

This portion of the poster roughly translates into

“With Nokia drive safely at the finish – including 3D representation and voice-controlled navigation.

New Operating System:  Windows phone 7.5 (Mango)
Brilliant 3.7 ” convex Amoled display”

Now, a placeholder app has been uncovered by wpxap.com called Nokia Maps. We aren’t sure yet but I assume this mapping application will only be tied in with Nokia branded Windows Phones. All we have to go by at the moment are the screenshots and the description provided.

Description:
Nokia Maps helps you to be a local anywhere you go. See where you are and discover places nearby in a snap. Get reviews, uncover new destinations and reach them with smart routing for public transport, walking and driving.

Its obvious that Nokia is “all in” on Windows Phone and it is getting ready to unleash a heavy dose of Nokia branded Windows Phones pretty soon.
