Toy Soldiers Cold War: Boot Camp Mini Game Video Previews

August 20, 2011 1 Comment

A mobile version of the Hit XBLA Toy Soldiers is coming to the Windows Phone 7 soon. Subtitled as “Boot Camp”, it packs in its bigger brother’s shooting gallery mini-games with cross-platform leader boards. Microsoft’s Gamescom announcement didn’t offer any game-play details but promised the title will be out in the Autumn. These videos found over the mystical, magical workings of this new site called YouTube displays the game play we can expect to get on the mobile counter part. Keep in mind that these videos come from the XBLA version, and will be scaled down for smooth game play. Out of the six mini games featured on the Xbox version, only three out of the four mini games are recognizable out the press kit supplied so there is one left to be seen that will also be ported. My guess is that the other two mini games from the console counterpart not in this release will be DLC content to be purchased on the phone at a later date. Lets take a gander! :

Flyswatter:

Here we see some of the same game play featured in the Windows Phone 7 Xbox Trailer delivered at Gamescom. Your goal is to shoot down as many flies as possible in the given time

Thread the Needle:

Here we see the game play of  simply guiding a rocket down an elaborate corridor

Cardboard Theater:

Just Destroy as many targets as you can!

Cool beans and cheese, and nachos! Lets keep in mind that only three of the six off the console version are shown! Toy Soldiers Boot Camp is scheduled for the Fall. Hopefully we get to play all 6, even if the other 2 are DLCs made to purchase at a later date. I don’t know about you gypsies but I believe Xbox on WP7 is nowhere near where it needs to be, but it is headed in the right direction at about 40mph – MBGW
