AppHub is Back Up, Private Beta Marketplace Added

July 19, 2011 No Comments

The AppHub website was temporarily disabled yesterday in order for some updates and new features to be added. The AppHub was back online last night and some changes worth noting were:

  • Updated layout
  • New crash reports
  • Export of download/purchase details
  • Private beta Marketplace
  • Edit application details

Developers in the AppHub forums for the most part seem to like the changes. I can imagine that the ability to edit your app details in the Marketplace must be a really convenient addition. It must be really annoying to have to submit a new version of you app decription everytime it needs editing.

The private beta Marketplace is the more interesting addition in my opinion. How awesome would it be for companies to hold public beta tests. This not only is good for the consumers to try out unreleased apps but it will give developers a lot more feedback to fine tune their apps.
