Microsoft Makes Move to Offer More Dev Phones Globally

March 24, 2011 No Comments

Microsoft has said that one of their main focuses of Windows Phone 7 is developing the Marketplace. They have done a lot of developer recruiting and given away many developer phones here in the U.S. Now they are expanding and doing what they can to offer more dev phones internationally. Microsoft partnered with Zones.com to bring WP7 developer phones to more markets. WP7 dev phones are now for sale in twenty-four countries.

Aside from that they are also offering vouchers that will discount or reimburse the cost of the phone to the devs. To take advantage of the vouchers, they have to purchase their phone and then reach out to their local evangelists for details. With dev phones being so expensive, it’s nice to see Microsoft make strides to offer them at a discount. More dev phones in the hands of developers means more good things for the Marketplace.
