Windows Phone Not Observing Daylight Savings Time (Fixed)

March 13, 2011 No Comments

When I woke up this morning I went about my day as if I had woken up at 7am, which is exactly the time my HTC HD7 told me it was. I proceeded to go through my morning as if I was perfectly on schedule to be at my 11:45 appointment only to have the rug pulled out from under me when my husband pointed out the difference in time from my phone to the computer.

Turns out my phone has gone skynet on me and chosen to not observe daylight savings, who told my phone to make choices? I changed my phone to manually set the time and when I put it back to automatic, lo and behold it had the wrong time again. UGH. Every Windows phone in my household is having the same issue, so I would think it’s a Windows Phone issue. I am going to assume that this will be fixed quickly. Plus the upside to all this is that I read on Twitter that someone was having the same problem with the already well established iPhone.

Update: Not all Windows Phones are reporting and issue. Looks like a few Dell Venue Pros and HTC HD7’s. Changing the time off of auto and switching it back 1 or 2 times seems to do the trick.
