Dailymotion App Review

February 10, 2011 No Comments

I have finally found my app for videos. DailyMotion’s WP7 app is just what I was looking for. It is basically a handheld version of their whole website into one simple to use app. The use of the Metro UI creates one of the best (if not THE best) user experiences by a 3rd party application. Slide your way through the featured videos, which by the way will start automatically scrolling if left untouched. That alone brings a whole other dimension to the application. Next is the channels which sorts videos into different categories like
  • News and Politics
  • Funny
  • Film, TV
  • Music
  • Auto-Moto
  • Tech
  • Etc.
You can also browse or search through videos. Signing in also gives you access to your videos, favorites and subscriptions. Navigating through this app is lightning fast.
The videos are as clear as you could imagine, It shows the info and you can slide over to show related videos without pausing the video which is a really cool feature. You can expand the video full screen by tapping on the video and pressing the icon. Tapping the video also shows you all the controls like pausing and fast forwarding. Expanding the video is also as easy as turning the phone over. It has a nice turning effect as well.
I tried to find any flaws to this app but as of yet I have found none. It is the perfect video app and it will be pinned on my home screen as soon as I finish this article. If you have a Windows Phone 7 device, this is a must download app!!!
