Game Review: Doodle God

In a world where in any app store/ marketplace, you can easily bump into 40 variations of a jumping game or a hundred farting apps. Its a real treat to play something that doesn't conform to any specific angle of game play. A totally original experience wrapped up in an intelligent user experience.

The game pegs you as the "creator" and you have to mix and match elements to create objects, materials and life. You start the game off with only a few elements and then Its up to you to create combinations to manufacture even more. By simply going into a group and pressing an element on each side you create a new one. You basically just mix and match to figure out what makes what… Eventually then creating things like different kinds of animals, insects, and even mythical creations like dragons.

How the game play is set up, makes it a perfect game to play for bits at a time. Hardcore gamers can also sit down with this game and enjoy it for a bit longer.

The game doesn't have too many flaws. One huge one (for me) is the fact that there is no indication of what you have previously created. Which can get very frustrating while trying to figure out different combinations. I can't count how many times I have been stuck trying to come up with a new combo while creating the same element over and over again. There is a master list of things you have already done but it is annoying to have to go back and look at a list while playing. Aside from that – I really enjoy playing this game.
