New In-Depth Cortana BUILD Session Showing Features & App Integration (Video)

April 6, 2014 No Comments

Now available for WP developers and die hard Windows Phone fans alike is the BUILD 2014 session titled Integrating Your App into the Windows Phone Speech Experience. If you haven’t figured it out by now in short, the video below running a little over 1-hour is a very detailed video on Microsoft Cortana and all that its new API will allow for developers to do. Check it out below:

Description:

The Windows Phone Speech APIs help you integrate your app into Windows Phone’s system-wide speech and natural language user experience. In this session we’ll demonstrate how you can extend the phone’s experience allowing users to launch YOUR APP by voice or text using free-form natural language commands. We will also look at how to enable voice-based conversational dialog interactions with users after your app has been launched, summarizing what’s different in the Windows Phone speech APIs.

Not only is that the full run down on what Cortana is, its the full run down on why/how a developer will integrate their own app into the personal assistant.  I can see in the future being able to add a film here and there on Netflix, watch a live stream of a game on MLB and get a table for 2(Me and Cortana) at a 5 star restaurant..Windows Phone future is oh so bright…MBGW
