Facebook Messenger Coming To Windows Phone In Coming Weeks

February 23, 2014 No Comments

Today at MWC Microsoft’s very own head honcho and VP Joe Belfiore announced Facebook’s popular chat app Messenger as coming soon to Windows Phone! This is a VERY solid addition to the Windows Phone ecosystem. Facebook Messenger is said to be making its way to the platform sometime in the next few weeks, although a precise release date wasn’t announced today. Below are the many features on the Android version that should be implemented into the Windows Phone version as well:

  • Get to your messages without opening Facebook.
  • Chat with groups and make plans on the go.
  • Bring messages to life with stickers.
  • Send photos privately.
  • Keep the conversation going: with chat heads, you can chat while using other apps.
  • Text your phone contacts, even if you’re not Facebook friends.
  • Share your location so people know when you’re nearby.
  • Record voice messages.
  • Make free calls, even to friends in other countries.
  • Know when people have seen your messages.
  • See who’s available on Messenger and who’s active on Facebook.
  • Stay logged in so you never miss a message.
  • Turn off notifications when you’re working, sleeping or just need a break.

No word if the app will be making its way to Windows 8, but are guess is that it will follow soon after!
