IPv6 Adoption Rate To Date Highest On Windows Phone 8August 25, 2013 No Comments
Looks like the Windows Phone does more than look pretty after all. Recent reports from GCN indicate that the IPv6 adoption rate from the platform is currently the highest. For those without a clue, Wikipedia defines the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) as the latest revision of the Internet Protocol. IPv6 is intended to replace IPv4, which still carries the vast majority of Internet traffic as of 2013. As of late November 2012, IPv6 traffic share was reported to be approaching1%. Windows Phone seems to be off to a better start than most mobile OS’s in terms of the usage of those currently on networks that support the IPv6 protocol. The chart below says it all.
