64% Of Top iOS Apps Now Available For Windows Phone

August 10, 2013 No Comments

It’s true that Windows Phone is moving up in the world and only after 3 years statistics show that the once 1% that we once held on to is now a flourishing percentage that continues to grow in the US as well as other countries. “Global shipments of smartphones running Microsoft’s mobile OS jumped more than 77 percent”, says research firm IDC and with that you would think the apps would continue to come in. But recent reports from Infragistics indicate that while we have come a long way, in terms of gaining some major apps, there is plenty of work to do. Below is a graph of the “Top Apps Availability By Mobile Platform” Take A Look:

While there is definitely clarity here in terms of percentages, the full picture isn’t gathered until you actually have the Full List Of Apps comparing each OS that they are basing their initial findingson.. Now if this were a college course Windows Phone would be at a solid D- grade and I don’t know about you, but I don’t consider that as passing. Microsoft has to kick things into high gear if they want to accomplish gaining more market share in the next year. These findings show us a broad picture of what apps are needed so if Microsoft wants a passing grade by what the mobile “standard” is for expected apps, they have to go for all on the top 100 list and as soon as possible…MBGW
