Windows Phone GDR3 in Testing – Feature List Revealed? (rotation lock, UI changes and more)

August 9, 2013 No Comments

Windows Phone 8 updates are coming alot slower than expected but they are being worked on. Currently the GDR2 update is trickling in and now TheVerge is reporting that Microsoft is already testing the Windows Phone GDR3 Update.

TheVerge also has noted the following new features and changes:

  • rotation lock feature
  • UI changes to Live Tiles
  • driving mode option
  • sync text messages from Windows Phones to PCs + web

Via Reddit:

  • 1080p / new SoCs, which we knew for quite some time now
  • Ability to actually close the apps via multi tasking (80% chance)
  • Silent NFC (60% chance)

We expect the GDR3 update to show up on new Windows Phone devices first and then show up as an update on older devices later.
