Facebook/Instagram Blocking 3rd Party Uploads to Instagram? Instagram… Grow UpJuly 30, 2013 No Comments
Ever since Windows Phone 7 launched a few years ago, it has battled to aquire as many popular apps for its new ecosystem. Till this day, Instagram has refused to play ball and still has not launched an app on the Windows Phone Store. When Facebook aquired Instagram last year, we all thought that it would just be a matter of time until the app was finally available on Microsoft’s mobile platform. We were all wrong however as the app is still as illusive as ever.
Recently, a few apps have popped up in the Windows Phone Store that have been able to give us users our Instagram fix. Instance (listed below) being one of the most popular apps that can login, view and upload images to the Instagram service.
Now it turns out that users that have been using Instance and other 3rd party apps are now seeing their previously uploaded images magically disappear from the service. It is one thing to block 3rd party apps and kill their access to your service but to go down that road of actually swiping away previously uploaded images is a bit much.
Instagram… GROW UP!
I really enjoyed using Instance and I hope this all can be resolved. In the meantime, at least we have the recently published Hipstamatic Oggl + Oggl PRO to use for now.
UPDATE: Instagram has confirmed change to API
