Nokia Amber Update Confirmed To Bring Bluetooth 4.0 SupportJuly 7, 2013 1 Comment
Recently, at an event in Hong Kong attended by Blogjackphone.com Nokia revealed information regarding the upcoming Nokia Amber update that is said to increase sharpness levels in photos, faster camera lens focusing times, automatic color temperature correction and advancements on battery life.
In addition to the previously announced enhancements is a major one that most have been waiting for since the beginning of Windows Phone 8, Bluetooth 4.0. In the photo below Nokia shows a slide stating that “Bluetooth LE will be available for Nokia Lumia 520,Nokia Lumia 620 and Nokia Lumia 720 devices”. What will become of the Nokia Lumia 920 and other flagship devices we can only assume is that they will be receiving the with same GDR2/Amber update then or at a later date concerning Bluetooth 4.0.
Bluetooth 4.0 has been adopted as of 30 June 2010 and it includes Classic Bluetooth, Bluetooth high speed and Bluetooth low energy (BT LE) protocols. The new low energy protocol has been adopted by accessories like the new smartwatches, fitness monitors like the Fitbit and other heart rate sensors and temperature monitors.
