Behind the Scenes: ‘Parkour: Red Bull Freerunning Champion Tests Nokia Lumia 920′June 18, 2013 No Comments
Remember back in April when we shared that parkour film – ‘The View’ featuring Red Bull Freerunner, Ryan Doyle? They has Lumia 920′s strapped to their chests as it took video of their every spin, jump and turn.
The Nokia UK team pleasantly surprised me with the behind the scenes video:
In this exclusive behind the scenes footage you’ll see how we got World Champion Red Bull freerunner Ryan Doyle and parkour athlete Will Sutton to put the Lumia’s video capturing capabilities through its paces.
Twelve Nokia Lumia 920s, each filming from a different perspective, were used to create the action-packed video. Two were strapped to the athletes using GoPro harnesses. The director attached his to a hand-held Glidecam for sweeping shots. For the aerial shots one of the smartphones was strapped on to a radio controlled Cinestar Octocopter. The rest of the video was filmed using a combination of handheld, chest and head cam mounted phones.
The result is clear, with PureView technology, 1080p HD footage, a Carl Zeiss lens, the best low-light performance in a smartphone to date, and the added benefit of Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), the Nokia Lumia 920 makes it easy to capture all the action – day or night.
