Windows Phone 8 GDR2 Update Already in Carrier Testing

May 6, 2013 1 Comment

Back in March, we got word that Microsoft was working on an update for Windows Phone 8 -‘General Distribution Release (GDR2) ‘. The update is rumored to bring new features and fixes like FM Radio support. Nokia has also added features to their Lumia line in this update like ‘double tap to wake up’.

Now it seems like this update should be arriving soon as Telstra customer support stated that they are already testing is.

Telstra customer support also mentions that due to battery problems, Nokia retracted the 1308 update in favor of 1314.

Hopefully the rollout will begin soon as Microsoft needs to get a bit better at pushing Windows Phone updates.
