Leaked: Internal MS Memo Denies Requiring Constant Internet Connection, Confirms Live TV and Blu-Ray (Xbox 720)May 6, 2013 2 Comments
All will be revealed on May 21st as Microsoft will be finally announcing the new generation Xbox. The new Xbox codenamed Durango and Xbox Vnext will finally have a face along with specifications.
However, that hasn’t stopped anyone from trying to figure out the puzzle before Microsoft makes their announcement. We have already seen ‘leaked’ specs, like blu-ray, always on connection, live TV, launch titles and more.
If the following leaked MS internal memo from arstechnica is to be believed, all of the above has been confirmed by the ‘alway-on’ rumor looks to be just something that was blown out of proportion as the new Xbox will fact be able to do things offline.
“Durango [the codename for the next Xbox] is designed to deliver the future of entertainment while engineered to be tolerant of today’s Internet.” It continues, “There are a number of scenarios that our users expect to work without an Internet connection, and those should ‘just work’ regardless of their current connection status. Those include, but are not limited to: playing a Blu-ray disc, watching live TV, and yes playing a single player game.”
I can’t wait to watch Microsoft’s big reveal as it promises to be a huge day for Microsoft, Xbox and the whole MS ecosystem.
