Windows Phone 7.8 Update Not Coming to T-Mobile’s Nokia Lumia 710

Sad day for those Nokia Lumia 710 owners on T-Mobile USA. It just so turns out that the latest Windows Phone 7.8 update will not be coming to the device. As reported by WPCentral, a reader of the site passed along an email from a conversation held by a service rep at Nokia in which they write the following:

In response to your concern, we understand that you want to confirm if the Windows Phone 7.8 will be available for Nokia Lumia 710 from T-Mobile. We are sorry to inform you that there are a small number of operators that have chosen not to offer the update to their users.

It is important to recognize that this decision was made solely by the operator and these include the T-Mobile network in the United States.”

Although this is bad news, if you are willing and have the know how, the guys over at XDA-Developers forum has posted CAB files for the brave to update their phones manually. And for all the “not-so-brave”, lets just hope Nokia can release the update by other means…MBGW
