Sprint Launching ‘New’ Windows Phone Hardware in 2013January 9, 2013 3 Comments
Sprint made a big comeback to the Windows Phone family recently as it announced that it will be offering Windows Phone 8 handsets this year. They didn’t state any details however as they only stated that it was working with Samsung and HTC to make it happen.
We all figured that we would then be seeing the Windows Phone 8x by HTC or the Samsung Odyssey but not so. Speaking to PC Mag today from Las Vegas, Sprint’s director of device delivery Ryan Sullivan says that Sprint will have new Windows Phone 8 hardware for its own launch.
“They’ll be current,” “We’re working for current product launches, and not necessarily to launch on six-month-old hardware.”
“We’re trying to work with Microsoft to make sure what we deliver is very high quality,”
“The platform integration and the services that we want to bring aren’t the only things we want to make fresh.”
Hopefully we will see brand spanking new hardware from HTC and Samsung for Sprint’s comeback to Windows Phone and not a list of variants.
