Twitter Client Tweetro Forced to Pull App from Windows StoreNovember 14, 2012 1 Comment
Over the past several months there has been a great deal of uncertainty surrounding 3rd party Twitter clients and their viability going forward after Twitter announced changes to their API that would impose new limits on developers (you can read their changes here). The changes appear to have taken their first casualty. Tweetro, for Windows 8, hit the 100,000 token wall shortly after the release of Windows 8 and now the developer has pulled the app from the Windows Store. This is even more frustrating when there isn’t an official Twitter client available for Windows 8.
#Windows8 needs a great Twitter app. So we’re building it. Looking forward to sharing it with you in the months ahead.

Twitter says that an official client is forthcoming in the months ahead… What about the millions of people who would like a native Twitter experience now?
There was a big uproar from developers after the API changes were announced, which lead to the creation of App.net (a site to compete with Twitter in a developer friendly way). It will be interesting to see how this story develops and how it affects the rest of the Twitter ecosystem.
