AT&T strongly behind Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8November 7, 2012 No Comments
Ralph de la Vega, head of AT&T mobility, spoke at the company’s investor conference in New York City today and when asked about the support of Windows Phone 8 devices he uttered nothing shy of what was expected.
“We are coordinating together to make sure we have an effective launch,” said Ralph de la Vega, head of AT&T’s mobile arm, in an interview with CNET .
“If a customer comes in the first logical question we ask is what computer do you own?” “If they say Windows 8, it’s only natural we recommend a Windows Phone. Why would you offer them something different?”
Microsoft is seeding the market with a large ecosystem of related products, which should build some buzz around Windows Phones, he said.
AT&T is also selling a number of tablets with Windows 8, which de la Vega said he is particularly bullish about.
“It’s gonna rain tablets,” he concluded in saying during an investor presentation today. Spoken like a man on a mission. That mission being, to partner with Microsoft in getting their products out in this season amidst the Windows 8 media and attention. We here at WP7Connect thinks that’s a winning combo for success when it comes to the Windows Phone 8 launch indeed…MBGW
