Why No Notification Center on Windows Phone 8? Microsoft – “Ran Out of Time”

November 2, 2012 5 Comments

One thing missing from all of Microsofts Windows Phone 8 that folks have been wanting is a central notification center. Live Tiles work great but a few power users have shared their interest in having a notification center especially when some apps do not use notification via the tiles. .

Microsoft’s Thomas Fennel strongly hinted they are considering a notification center for Windows Phone. When asked about the missing feature he answered, “Because we ran out of time”. He also noted that “It’s very very important to me… we get tons of feedback from developers that they want something like that as well. I promise we’re thinking very very hard on that one.”

It looks like we will see this feature sneak into the OS at a later time.
