Microsoft Testing ‘Surface Windows’ PhoneNovember 2, 2012 3 Comments
Although the image above is a concept of a rumored Surface Phone. It looks like Microsoft is going ahead and began building on a concept mobile device to partner with its Surface tablet running Windows 8. According to the Wall Street Journal, Microsoft is already working with and testing their own smartphone using suppliers from Asia.
As they brought out the Surface tablet to move Windows 8 forward, Microsoft might be trying to do the same thing to the Windows Phone platform. If you think that would interrupt with what they have going with Nokia, even Stephen Elop is on board with such a device from Microsoft.
One source has even claimed that the screen size is somewhere between 4 and 5 inches. Which really doesn’t amount to much since every Windows Phone 8 device has been between 4 and 5 inches so far.
If Microsoft did have something in mind, look to the Surface Pro launch in about 3 months for them to show it off (if it exist).
You can even check out images of a mobile device that Microsoft has placed in Windows 8 ads that might show off what Microsoft might have in mind here.
