Stephen Elop: MS ‘Surface’ Windows Phone Could Help ‘Ecosystem’

October 18, 2012 1 Comment

Microsoft nor Nokia has confirmed that Microsoft is working on a rumored Surface Windows Phone.

“stimulant to the ecosystem,”

“We’re encouraging of HTC and Samsung and Microsoft or whomever to have devices in the market and to be making whatever investments that helps spur the ecosystem on,” – Elop

Mr. Elop added that Nokia is “very proud of the unique differentiation that we are bringing to the Windows Phone platform,” he adds. “It’s not something that’s easily replicated or reinvented or anything like that.”

No telling whether or not a Microsoft developed Surface phone would work or whether it would just create havoc with 3rd party OEM’s.

What do you guys think? Would this be a smart move by Microsoft?
