Nokia Transport/ Transit 2.3 Beta Available Now for Windows Phone

October 8, 2012 No Comments

Nokia Transit/ Transport BETA has been updated recently to add a few more features.

What’s New:

Glance and go with intuitive icons

Easily find the next leg of your route at a glance, thanks to simple and intuitive graphical icons for the different modes of transport (e.g. bus, train, subway). Additionally, the new POI icons in the History view (e.g. hotels, restaurants, shops) make it easy for you to identify your destination. No more slowing down to figure out where you are going or what you are looking for—you simply glance and go.

Your last stop is just a swipe away

Now a simple swipe left or right in the main screen reveals your previous destinations, then just tap to see the route options from wherever you are. So whether you want to find your way back to your hotel or to that little café you discovered yesterday, it’s as simple as a swipe.

Continuous and automatic over-the-air updates—they just happen

Now information on service changes, new routes, and newly supported cities is automatically pushed to your phone, so you always have the latest route information and schedules.

Improved station search puts finding your station a tap away

Searching just got more precise and relevant. Simply enter the name of your station and Transport prioritizes public transport stations to the top of your search results. No more scrolling to find what you’re looking for. Just type, tap, and go.

Key Features:

  • Everything, all in one place: One view for all your public transportation information with integrated pedestrian, bus, train, and light rail for over 700 agencies worldwide.
  • Tap for transport nearby: Easily discover which stop or station is closest to where you are, check upcoming departure times for buses, trains, trams, and more.
  • Integrated route options:  With Journey Planner you can review multiple integrated route options including the fastest way to get there from where you are. Choose the route and time that works best for you and you are all set with detailed door-to-door routing.
  • Detailed door-to-door routing: Guided directions show you where to get off, and guide you all the way to your final destination with integrated walking directions. View your walk directions on a map or in a list view.
  • Pin your favorite destination to your start screen: Easily find your way back to your favorite destinations right from your start screen and get route and departure times at a glance.
  • Smart search: quickly search by address or POI to find the best route.
