Nokia Squashes Battery Drain Rumors Due to Super Sensitive Display

October 1, 2012 2 Comments

There is a rumor that has been going around the last couple of days that stated that there might be battery drain issues on the Lumia 820 and 920 due to their super sensitive displays. I thought nothing of it and passed on posting about it because there was no proof and to me it just didn’t make any sense. Nokia however took the rumor and squashed it before it even had a chance to really spread.

While the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 both enjoy super sensitive touch, the firmware has been configured to avoid accidental activation of the display.  In testing this has not proven to be an issue or to cause unwanted battery drainage.

What has been configured to stop it happening?

The firmware requires a ‘landing event’ to move into active mode and without a repeat of that landing event will eventually return into sleep mode.

There you go…

There should be no issues with the battery draining due to the sensitive screens.
