HD YouTube steaming down for the count on Windows Phone Apps

September 16, 2012 1 Comment

If you have a Windows Phone chances are your not satisfied with the current state that the official Google YouTube app is in. You then decided to download a 3rd party app from the marketplace such as MetroTube or SuperTube, which works how you would expect any great YouTube application should, only to find out later that the video quality has lowered and for some will not stream in a higher quality HD.

It happens because of certain access methods for streaming. Currently those apps in the marketplace along with a few others were using a method that Google didn’t approve to use hence breaking the abilites to stream at a high resolution. Nothing a quick update cant fix, SuperTube developers have already confirmed to wpcental.com of an update on the way. All we can do now is wait..MBGW
