Microsoft Finally Admits Next Gen Xbox – Outlook Built In?

August 6, 2012 1 Comment

The new Xbox 360 fall update will bring things like IE, etc. The console already runs Zune (now Xbox Music) and other apps. You can read about it all here. Is this in preparation for something bigger down the line?

Finally Microsoft has admitted what we already know, there will be a new Xbox coming sometime in the future.

We have had massive “leaks’on the Xbox ’720′ front like that its name would be Xbox 8, that it is scalable, runs app simultaneously with games and now a Microsoft employee has let slip (finally) that the console does exist and it will have a bit more in common with Windows 8 than just its looks.

Microsoft’s Brian Hall let slip that the new Xbox would support the upcoming Windows 8 operating system during a radio interview.

“We’ve had Hotmail and operated Hotmail for about 16 years, we obviously have Exchange, and Outlook, that people use at work,” explained Hall.

“We just decided it was time to do something new and bring the best from each of those, put them together, and release it right in time for the new wave of products that we could have coming out. With Windows 8, with the new version of Office, with the New Windows phone and the new Xbox.”

There you have it… Microsoft finally tells us that Xbox ’720′ is coming but also that we will have access to the new outlook. Only time will tell however as to how much in common the two will really have.
