Game Review: World Of Rabbit – The DigJuly 24, 2012 2 Comments
Recently, ‘World of Rabbits – The Dig’ landed on the Windows Phone Platform after being exclusive to Nokia devices in the past. The game was developed by BreakDesign whose co-founder, Stefan Wessels, just so happens to be an ex-Nokia employee. Let’s take a closer look together at BreakDesign’s 100% free game ‘World of Rabbits – The Dig’.
When you first launch the free game ‘World of Rabbits – The Dig’, you notice right away how well it was developed as there is virtually no loading to begin the game. You start off with a quick tutorial on how to play and maneuver around. The premise of the game is simple, the robots have taken control of the surface and you take charge of a colony of rabbits. You take charge by helping them build rooms for themselves one on top of the other. To build lots of rooms you are going to need a lot of rabbits. When I say a lot, I mean tons and all different and moody to no end. They don’t only like to work hard but they also play and sleep just as hard.
Electricity Room: This is where your rabbits get to work making electricity. You need this for power to build more rooms. Green Room: Here you grow food to attract more rabbits.
Entertainment Room: Your rabbits get grouchy sometimes and stop working, with these rooms you can drop them in for some TV time, boxing and more.
Bed-Room: Even though there is no bed in sight, the room is for your rabbits that need to catch up on some Zzz’s.
War Room: You can use this room to go out and fight the robots and try to beat your friends highscores.
Extra Rooms: So far I have found two extra rooms. One lets you customize your rabbits with the use of power you’re generating. It is pretty fun to see what kind of creatures you can come up with. The other lets you rearrange the order of your rooms which can become very unorganized and may hinder your performance.
Designating a rabbit to each room is a simple process of just drag and drop. Remember however that you can only have 5 rabbits per room at a time thus the need to create more rooms as you add more rabbits.
Be prepared for a frantic experience to try and keep all your rabbits happy and working hard. Their moods change pretty quickly and as soon as they are tired or bored you will see a bubble appear over their heads suggesting what they want to do. It is your job to drag and drop them in the required room, as soon as they are done sleeping or playing, they will begin franticly walking around until you give them a task.
God forbid if you exit the game for awhile and then start it back up as the game attempts to simulate the time you have spent away from your rabbits. If you haven’t paid attention to your rabbits for a long period of time, you will instantly see all of them pleading to for some down time. They will even go so far as to hold up picketing signs like they were on strike.
Going back to the war room, you can access this extra game play by placing a rabbit into the room. Then you can launch this arcade type game where you defend your home versus the robots with rockets. You can then submit your score for the leaderboard and compare with friends.
As I continue to play the game, I hope I trip over a few new rooms that feature other types of game play.
There is so much going on with this game that it is pretty difficult to capture it all in a review. ‘World of Rabbits – The Dig’ is a fun, free game that everyone in the household can play. It is challenging but easy going with no way to really lose. Also knowing that your rabbits are hard at work at all times means that you find yourself checking up on them throughout the day.
If you own a Windows Phone, you should definitely download and try ‘World of Rabbits – The Dig’ as it could easily be an Xbox Live game. Hopefully we will see more of this high quality development on Windows Phone from the developers of BreakDesign in the future.

With the surface world overrun by robots, the rabbits remain far below, their underground world a safe haven from the rule of the robots up above. You have the task of building a new home for the rabbits, keeping them entertained and rested as they work, and digging ever downward to build a new rabbit empire and rediscover ancient rabbit secrets.
