New Nokia Patent Application Calls ‘Flexible Fabric Hinge’ (Courier Like Tablet?)July 17, 2012 2 Comments
Nokia has applied for a new patent that calls for a courier like tablet.
Detailed in this new patent, Nokia’s has developed a highly-flexible fabric hinge with an integrated data connection. This means that the tablet or smart-phone in question would be completely fold-able. This would make tablets easier to carry around and phones small enough to fit perfectly into someones pocket.
Another thing that pops into mind when looking over this patent is that fact that this could very well be technology that would be combined with Nokia’s flexable screens which were showed off late last year.
The prototype Nokia Kinetic Device was a hit when Nokia showed it off as the companies future and a flexible hinge could take that project into a whole other level.
It would be a dream though if this tech were to be used for a Windows 8 tablet. Just imagine how cool it would be to just fold up your device and go, much like the now defunct Microsoft courier that never made it o
How would you use this technology to better your tablet or smart-phone experience?
