Nokia, Nielsen: Lumia 900 Owners Spend Double on Apps Than Industry Average
July 12, 2012 4 CommentsA few days ago, Nokia reported that Nielsen found that 98.5% of Lumia 900 owners thought that the device was better than all other smart phones. They also mentioned a few other cool facts about how in love Lumia 900 owners are with their phones.
Now Nokia is letting out more details about Nielsen’s findings. 96% of Lumia 900 users opted for a data plan, even beating out the 84% that added SMS (which is usually always the most popular choice).
They also surveyed users as to what they use their devices for mostly. The top 10 are:
- Use camera for still pictures (93%)
- Browsing websites (89%)
- Use social networks (85%)
- Download apps from the Marketplace (83%)
- Access email (83%)
- Connect to WiFi (83%)
- Customise the home screen (81%)
- GPS (81%)
- Set up an email account (80%)
- Download games from Marketplace (78%)
The really interesting bit of news however is how much Lumia 900 owners are spending on apps. Nielsen uncovered that an average 900 user is spending a whopping $15 a month on apps. The industry average is about $7.50 (for all smartphones) so it has doubled that amount.
How much do you spend a month on apps? What Phone do you use?
