Xbox Music Details Emerge – Zune Answers Rebranding QuestionsJune 29, 2012 1 Comment
Xbox Music is coming whether you like it or not and the Zune brand will finally be resting in peace. Xbox Music will be offering Spotify like streaming for a monthly fee and also will let customers purchase music through a digital store. Reports are coming in that Xbox Music users will be offered an online locker service to place entire collections online, accessible by multiple mobile devices running Windows 8.
Recently the Zune team answered some questions for current users as to what changes they will be facing during the change.
You recently announced a new music service, Xbox Music. What’s happening to Zune?
The Zune music and video service has been a key component of Microsoft’s entertainment offering. We’re using our expertise from Zune to launch a brand-new music service under the Xbox Music brand. When we launch, Xbox Music will bring you a world-class music library, and great new ways to enjoy, share and discover new music. We will release Xbox music on Xbox 360, Windows Phones and Windows 8 PCs and Tablets.
I’m a Zune subscriber. What happens to my music collection?
Current Zune customers will become Xbox Music customers and will have access to everything they love today, and more. We’re confident Zune users will enjoy Xbox Music and we will share more details closer to launch.
Hopefully we do get a bunch of new features without compromising the best features of Zune.
