Microsoft Applies For 11 Top Level Domain Names Like .Xbox, .Hotmail, and .WindowsJune 13, 2012 2 Comments
The Internet Corporation (ICANN) has opened the floodgates to new top level domain names. Under the new program, companies will be able to register their own applications. New applications include names like .android, .app, .love, .ico, .homes, .ibm, .chase, .schmidt, .movie, .android, and .meme. ICANN revealed that there are 1.930 applications for new generic top level domains.
Microsoft has been quite busy as they have applied for 11 names:
Organizations will have to pay a minimum of $25,000 per year to keep the domain, and many names overlap so not everyone will be getting what they asked for.
Any other names you think Microsoft should of applied for?
