Apple Drops Google Maps but Secretly Uses Microsoft Data?
June 12, 2012 2 CommentsApple announced that it would be dropping Google Maps, the company however was very secretive about where they were now going to get their mapping data from. Folks were quick to find sources that pointed to Tom Tom as being their source but it stated Tom Tom and others.
Who are those others? It looks like it is Microsoft and possibly Nokia as well. According to TechPP, the company is, either directly, or through a partner, sourcing certain images from Microsoft.
