Microsoft Shows Off Xbox Smart Glass

June 4, 2012 2 Comments

Microsoft today has officially announced Xbox Smart Glass. Just like the rumors, the app serves as a remote control, allowing users to start, finish stream media from their device to the Xbox 360. Smart Glass will also work as a secondary screen for some video games.

Can you picture yourselves using this feature?

I barely use the Xbox Companion today, so I don’t see myself using this in the future. Couple that w/ the fact that it’ll likely only be used in conjunction w/ services that require an Xbox Live (Gold) subscription – which I already hate – and I don’t see myself, personally, using it.

Why pay for access to Netflix, Amazon VOD, etc when you can just get a Roku for a one-time fee 🙂
