Nokia World Gets Moved to an Earlier Date – Smaller Events Planned All Over the WorldMay 23, 2012 2 Comments
Back in March, Nokia announced their popular annual conference “Nokia World” for 2012. They stated that the event would be taking place september 25-26th. Now, Nokia has reconfigured their plans to what Nokia World is and will be. First, the event will be taking place a few weeks earlier on September 5-6th. Second, they will be making the event much more smaller and intimate but creating more Nokia World conventions all over the world.
We have made some changes to the format and date of Nokia World 2012. Instead of a single, large-scale event as we have had in years past, we will run a number of smaller, more intimate events with specific audiences in mind. Think less CES, more SXSW.
The first of these will take place in Helsinki on September 5-6. (A while ago we announced that it would be held on September 25-26, but the date has now been advanced by a couple of weeks.) This invitation-only event will cater primarily to our operator and retail partners.
With these more intimate events we want to provide the most enjoyable and rewarding experience tailored for each audience.
Other Nokia activities will be announced in the weeks and months ahead. Stay tuned!
I think that the date was pushed forward because of Windows Phone 8 announcements. I also believe that the event becoming a more world wide affair is a smart move as it gets more people involved all over the world.
