Bridgestone Gains Traction by Loading Up on Windows Phone (Lumia 800)
May 18, 2012 1 CommentIt is amazing to me how it has taken the presence of Nokia for companies to begin understanding how much switching to Windows Phone will not only save money but allow you to do more in the process.
Bridgestone Australia has announced that they will be switching to Windows Phone (Lumia 800) to save money and add more functionality from their smartphones. This news comes directly after the fact that Feeding America has also just recently announced that they will be switching to Windows Phone as well.
Group IT manager for Bridgestone Australia, Scott Baxter, said in a statement:
“There was a strong business case for the Nokia Lumia 800. It gives us the best of both worlds — seamless integration with familiar business tools, such as Outlook, Internet Explorer, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as exceptional design and build quality,”
He also added that the Lumia’s 800 free Nokia Drive app would help them ditch all their GPS navigation units.
My only question is… who’s next to make the jump? With Microsoft Office built in and free apps like Lync, Nokia Drive, etc. it is basically a no brainer for companies.
