Windows Phone: Sending Messages to Offline Facebook Contacts Now Enabled

May 14, 2012 1 Comment

The Facebook messenger built in to Windows Phone and specifically the messaging hub works really well. The only downside to it (to me) was the fact that you couldn’t send messages to users that were offline. Even if you were in the middle of talking to them and they had just logged off.

Now it seems like Microsoft has fixed this issue. When you message someone now that is offline on Facebook, the message still goes through.

I have tried it out and it works great! If you have more option for that contact it still warns you that the contact is offline and your better off reaching them another way but the message still makes its way to Facebook.
