Windows Phone 8: More Signs that Current Devices Will Get Upgraded
April 27, 2012 3 CommentsThis whole Windows Phone 8 upgrade situation is getting more confusing and twisted by the second. Does no one know what’s going on? Yesterday we heard whispers of all Windows Phones being able to upgrade to Windows Phone 8. Now we have 2 separate issues on Twitter that contradict each other… kind of…
On Twitter, LG Italy explained to someone that there would be no Windows Phone 8 upgrade for the LG Optimus 7. Then moments later apologized for the erroneous information.
Hello, no, no upgraded to Windows 8 as confirmed by Microsoft.
We apologize for the erroneous information. We are still investigating the possibility of upgrading the Optimus 7
In another seperate situation, Nokia Saudi Arabia was asked about the Lumia 900 and they replied that it would be available in October with the Windows Phone 8 update and with 100% Arabic support.
NOKIA SAUDI ARABIA @ NokiaKSA
@ IMousa7 Nokia phones will be available in Saudi Arabia to Umia in ten AD, Arab,100% God willing, system and Windows 8
Like I have said before, we will be hearing rumors and speculation until Microsoft speaks up about the situation. I however feel that it would be a mistake on Microsofts part if atleast the 2nd gen devices do not get upgraded. I am also hard pressed to believe that Nokia would let the Lumia 900 go out like that, especially with how well it appears to be selling.
At least these new entries to the huge list of speculation, make it seem like we are on the path to having Windows Phone 8 on our current devices.
