Pepper: Free App That Combines Live Music With SocialApril 24, 2012 1 Comment
Here is a cool little app that is UK only at the moment but I can’t wait to be available in the US. Pepper takes the concept of social and throws the Live Music theme on it. The app itself was born on WIndows Phone even though IOS and Android versions are being worked on.
Connect with your friends on Pepper and discover the live music they enjoy. Receive updates when friends’:
- Add events to their calendar
- Check in at events
- Update their status
- Upload photos of events (version 1.2)
- Follow an artist, venue or promoter
Here are a few more things you can do in Pepper App:
- Search thousands of gigs and club nights by date and location
- View event details including start time, venue, artists and ticket prices
- View friends attending an event
- Invite friends to events you’re attending
- Check in at events
- Share your status from events
- Add events to your Pepper App calendar
- View friends activity from your Pepper App news feed
- Track your favourites from your Pepper App profile
- View your friends favourites and calendar
- View artists, venues and promoters profiles
From the Developer:
Pepper, a free new app that allows you to create your own social network around live music events, has today been launched on the Windows Phone Marketplace. Find a club night based on your location, follow your favourite artists and stay updated with upcoming gigs as well as sharing details of the events you plan to attend. At an event and want to let your friends know? Check-in to each event you attend with Pepper and share comments or photos whilst you are there. When it comes to live music, Pepper is making it social.
Getting access to your favourite band or artist is actually pretty easy in today’s digital world – with a few clicks you can download the latest album release on iTunes, stream the new single using Spotify or watch the hundreds of music videos uploaded to YouTube. As easy as it may be, let’s face it – there really is nothing quite like being at a live music event. Whether it’s the O2, Glastonbury or a venue with less than a hundred people, the atmosphere and experience is in a league of its own.
And if the above strikes a chord, then Pepper could be music to your ears (excuse all music-related puns).
With Pepper, you can:
Find club nights & gigs based on your exact location. Find relevant events that match your music tastes from across the UKFollow your favourite artists, venues & promoters and store upcoming events to your calendar so you don’t miss themReceive updates from your friends on the events they’re interested in & invite them to events you’re planning to attendCheck-in to events & share comments & photos with friends across all social networks, at the touch of a button
Taking the time to discover where and when our favourite bands play next or to find out if any unsigned artists are gigging locally can cause a major headache. With Pepper, you’ll never miss out on the events that matter again. Create your own network of friends who have similar music tastes to you, people who have been to the same gigs as you, or simply those who happen to be in same city and are on the lookout for some live music that evening.
Pepper is available as a free download for Windows Phone. The iPhone, Android and BlackBerry apps are still in sound check but are not too far away from completing the line-up.
For more information about Pepper or to start making live music you love more social, please visit www.pepper-app.com.
For those of you in the UK, you can enjoy this app right now. For those in the US, the developer has told me that it is in the works and should be coming soon.
Change the way you discover, share and remember live music.
Pepper is the easiest way to share your live music social life with your friends. Know who’s attending events, invite anyone that’s missing and check in at events to share your experience with friends who couldn’t make it.
You can also follow your favourite artists, venues or promoters, view their upcoming events and catch up on their latest updates from Twitter (internal feed released in version 1.4).
There are currently over 600 of the top venues in the UK listing their events on Pepper with more joining every day. If you’re a music lover, clubber or occasional gig-goer, you’ll always be able to find an event that you’ll enjoy.
This is only version 1.0! We are working around the clock to bring you new features and greater detail on the artists, venues and promoters listed on Pepper. Please let the venues and promoters know that you use Pepper, this will help improve the information on the app.
