Will Verizon Finally Get behind Windows Phone? Looks Like It…April 19, 2012 1 Comment
During its quarterly conference call, Verizon Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo expressed that they can do for Windows Phone what they did for Android. Obviously he was speaking about how Verizon turned Android into the Droid craze with their exclusive lineup of Android devices.
“We created the Android platform from the beginning and it is an incredible platform today that we helped to create, and we are looking to do the same thing with a third ecosystem,” Shammo continued to say that Verizon is “fully supportive” of Microsoft and talked about the need for a third mobile ecosystem.
I think that anything they do moving forward will be better than what they have done in the past as Verizon still only has one Windows Phone available which is the HTC Trophy.
Todd Rosenbluth, an equity analyst at Standard & Poor’s also added to the mix by saying that Verizon might be coming out with a Nokia Windows Phone later in the year.
”It hints that there’s a Nokia device that could appear on the Verizon network in the near future,”
Hopefully Verizon does have plans for Windows Phone as it would be great to finally have another carrier wanting to sell Microsoft’s mobile platform.
