Out of Stock Lumia 900′s Due to Sales – Nokia to ‘Satisfy Demand’April 18, 2012 1 Comment
Alot has been written on the sales of the newly released Windows Phone Lumia 900 from Nokia. Technically however all we can go by are Amazon ratings and notices of out of stock devices. Recently the Lumia 900 was out of stock on AT&T and for the most part everyone thought that it was due to the data bug.
Nokia though, specifically Nokia spokeswoman Karen Lachtanski says that it was due to sales. She goes on to say that Nokia is working on hard on Lumia 900 devices to re-stock inventory and meet customer demands. Karen also spoke briefly about how most people opted to wait and update their new devices themselves instead of just returning the device for a brand new one.
“The inventory situation is primarily a function of demand because we are seeing that most customers are opting to keep their units and simply update via Zune,” Nokia spokeswoman Karen Lachtanski told AllThingsD. “So the impact of customer swaps is insignificant. We are producing more devices to satisfy demand as quickly as possible.”
Glad to see that the Lumia 900 really is selling out in various AT&T stores and online. We won’t know exact numbers however until the companies report second-quarter 2012 financial results this summer, or release official sales numbers.
