Microsoft Played the Odds In ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’ ChallengesMarch 27, 2012 1 Comment
TheVerge has outed Microsoft and has posted an article on how the company knows and uses its odds vs other phones. An Employee manual that they got their hands on suggests that employees were told which challenges to do with and against what device. Things like:
You should also steer clear of this challenge against an HTC Status (i.e. the Facebook Phone) as it also has a built in pocket-to-picture-to-post feature and a camera that switches on even faster than Windows Phone.
With all the hoopla surrounding ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’ at the moment, these ‘findings’ are getting alot of attention. I for one do not understand it though. Microsoft is a company trying to sell their product, just like all the rest of the companies out there. ‘Smoked by Windows Phone’ is not a sport or for that matter a real competition. People need to remember that this is to sell Windows Phones so at the end of the day it is a promotion and a top notch advertisement.
What is wrong with Microsoft showing you how their product is better than what you have on you at the moment? Isn’t that what companies and stores do?
How do you feel about all of this?
