Official: Rovio Has No Plans to Bring ‘Angry Birds: Space’ to Windows Phone (Update: Will Come to WP Eventually)

It’s Official, Rovio has no plans to develop Angry Birds: Space for Windows Phone. I speculated as much a few days ago while the game was being made available for IOS, Windows, OSX and Android. Now however we have the developers themselves pretty much flipping the  ‘Angry Bird’ if you will at Windows Phone users.

“If you look at activations, Apple’s iOS and Android are clearly bigger than any other platform. We want to be on all screens, but we have to consider the cost of supplying the smaller platforms. With Windows Phone it’s a lot of work to technically support it.”

Sad to say that the only way Angry Birds: Space is coming to Windows Phone is if Microsoft ends up putting up the money and legwork.

 Update:

Speaking to Reuters, Rovio Chief Executive Mikael Hed has said

“We are working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7,”

So it is coming to Windows Phone but my guess is that it is not going to be anytime soon.
