Nokia Re-Imagines Windows Phone UI (Images)
March 20, 2012 1 CommentRemember when the Microsoft and Nokia deal was made? It was a well known fact that Nokia has the ability to switch up and change Metro UI on their own branded Windows Phones. Till this day, I am happy that Nokia has kept the Metro UI on their Windows Phones and I think their devices are that much better for it.
Recently however, PocketNow has come across work by one of Nokia R&D’s senior graphic designers that show that at one point Nokia was clearly thinking of making a few changes.
Microsoft was reached for comment but said that they had never seen these images before. When Nokia was contacted they explained that the concepts “are purely her own personal design explorations and were never part of any project being done at or for Nokia.”
I agree with PocketNow with the fact that no one would draw these up for free but it does look like however that this might of been just a few mockups just testing different looks and experiences for Windows Phone.
What do you guys think? (let’s just say I am happy this never saw the light of day)
