TENCENT QQ Game Hall Replacing Xbox Live on Nokia Windows Phone in ChinaFebruary 25, 2012 No Comments
Recently we covered how Tango would effect users in China and how some services that have found homes on Windows Phone would be swapped out.
- WeiBo (Chinese version of Twitter) and RenRen (Chinese version of Facebook) would be used to replace Twitter and Facebook which cannot be accessed in China
- Bing search result would be based on a combination of Bing and BaiDu, the Chinese no.1 search engine
One thing that was announced that would not change but be removed was Xbox Live.
Now it is being reported that Nokia has reached an agreement to bring TENCENT QQ Game Hall to Windows Phone powered Nokia devices in China. TENCENT, is a Chinese social network with over 200 million users and their QQ Game Hall which has more than 13 million users per day.
“It will allow users to log in through their QQ accounts and find their QQ friends immediately” – Shangai Daily.
Now more details have been made available yet. We should know more next week at MWC 2012.
