GrooveShark App Not Coming to Windows Phone (Not Now Anyway)

February 21, 2012 No Comments

We were all happy recently when we found out that GrooveShark’s HTML5 site is now working on Windows Phone. Now we get some bad news as a rep for GrooveShark has confirmed that a dedicated app for Windows Phone isn’t in the works.

A GrooveShark user sent the company a note and this is what he heard back:

Anonymous : “I was wondering if, in the near future, you would develop an application for users of Windows Phone 7. You are on all other platforms except ours.”

Grooveshark response (Jessica – Community Manager) : “Hey E *****, Thanks for Taking the time to write us. Unfortunately, Grooveshark is not planning on Developing for Windows Phone 7. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience and confusion. Please let us know if You have Any further Top questions. “

For now it seems that Windows Phone users that use their service will have to use their HTML5 site. Hopefully the company changes their minds and brings a dedicated application to Windows Phone.
